HOW TO APPLY!

Thank you for your interest in a teaching, support, and/or administrative position with the Lauderdale County School System of Halls and Ripley, Tennessee. We are very committed to attracting and retaining the best quality educators to our school system in order to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of all of the just over five thousand students who enter the doors of our eight (8) schools. We would like to invite you to come and take a look at us and determine if you'd like to become a part of the many wonderful things taking place in our school system.

Application Process

We ask that you submit the following items using our online application system as soon as possible. If you are unable to upload the documents, you may mail those to the attention of the Human Resource Director of Lauderdale County Schools. We ask that you do not send unsolicited resumes to the Board of Education, please submit with the application only.

  • Copy of resume

  • Three (3) completed Professional Reference Forms

The following items should be submitted if not already approved and visible in TNCompass:

  • College transcript(s)

  • Praxis (NTE) scores, if applicable.

  • Copy(ies) of previous teaching certificates outside of Tennessee.

Job Postings

We post positions to our site as they become available. In the event that there is not a specific position available, you may apply for any of the "Future" positions listed in the job category that you are interested in. We encourage you to sign up for our "job alerts" to receive an email notification of new postings to our site.

Substitute Teaching Positions

Substitute teachers are always needed in Lauderdale County School System. All substitute candidates are required to complete a TBI/FBI fingerprint background check prior to being hired. Hiring of substitutes ends on May 1st of each school year and begins again after July 1stCurrent substitutes are required to provide in writing their intent to continue to substitute in the next school year no later than July 1st each year. If written notice is not received, substitutes will be inactivated in the system and may have to apply again.

Custodial Positions

Our custodial work is handled by HES Facilities Management, an independent contractor. HES uses a hard copy application separate from our online system for candidates considering janitorial work. Applications can be picked up at the front desk at the Board of Education office. An FBI/TBI background check is required to be considered for janitorial work in the school system.
