Mr. Chris McCorkle has been appointed as the new Director of Operations for Lauderdale County Schools. Mr. McCorkle currently serves as Assistant Principal and Assistant Athletic Director at Ripley High School. During his tenure at RHS, he has had oversight over several budgets and operational programs. During his tenure at RHS, he has demonstrated good organizational skills and has been an asset to the principals he has served.
Mr. McCorkle began his 14 year career in Lauderdale County as a Social Studies teacher at Ripley Middle School where he taught for four years. Prior to returning to Lauderdale County, Mr. McCorkle served various roles in Haywood County, including teacher, Assistant Director at the REACH Academy and Alternative Learning Center, and Principal at Sunny Hill Intermediate School. Mr. McCorkle is a graduate of Arkansas State University with an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and a Master’s Degree in Education Theory and Practice. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in History in Secondary Education from the University of Arkansas.
