Mack and Drumwright are partnered with the local community to refine their work skills.

In our ever-changing work environment, Lauderdale County Schools is committed to providing a rigorous curriculum along with hands-on learning! Through work-based learning (WBL), we are bridging the gap between high school and high-skill careers in Tennessee. While students are receiving classroom instruction, they may simultaneously work a job aligned with their curriculum. Through experiences like internships, apprenticeships, and paid work experiences, students may earn high school credit for capstone WBL experiences. One of our partners is Tennessee’s Youth Employment Program (YEP). This program allows our students to gain workforce experience while earning up to $4,000. To help provide these work-based learning experiences, we are partnering with local businesses to equip students with essential skills needed be productive citizens in the community.
