Mr. Kimble

For over a decade, I've had the immense privilege of serving as Superintendent of Lauderdale County Schools. Since I announced my resignation in January, my heart has been filled with a profound sense of gratitude and a deep well of cherished memories. This decision, though carefully considered, is bittersweet, as my connection to this community runs far deeper than just a job title.

My journey with Lauderdale County Schools spans 27 years, from my early days as a technology teacher and school administrator to the honor of leading this incredible district. I've witnessed the remarkable resilience of our students, the unwavering dedication of our educators, and the tireless commitment of our support staff. Every step of the way, I’ve been inspired by the collective spirit that makes Lauderdale County so special.

Looking back, I am filled with pride at the progress we've achieved together. We've faced challenges and celebrated triumphs, always with the best interests of our students at heart.  These years have been the most fulfilling chapter of my professional life, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our schools.

To the school board members, both past and present, thank you for your unwavering support and collaborative spirit. Your dedication to providing quality education has been a guiding light. To the incredible employees of Lauderdale County Schools, your hard work and passion are the very foundation of our success. You are the unsung heroes who make a difference every single day.

And to the families and community members who entrusted us with the education and well-being of your children, thank you. Your unwavering support has been a constant source of strength and inspiration. You have been partners in our mission, and I am deeply grateful for your trust.

While I am stepping down from my role as Superintendent, my commitment to the students and the future of Lauderdale County remains steadfast. I will work diligently to ensure a smooth transition and offer any assistance needed during this time. While much progress has been made, I know there is still a lot of work ahead.  I believe in the potential of our students and the power of our community to create a bright future for all.

Lauderdale County Schools will always hold a special place in my heart and this community will still be my home.  As my final day of April 11 quickly approaches, I want to thank you all for the extraordinary opportunity to serve our students and this community. I wish you all continued success in the years to come and may the spirit of collaboration, dedication, and unwavering support continue to guide our schools towards even greater heights.

With sincere gratitude,

Shawn Kimble
