Lauderdale County Schools will have an early dismissal day for students on Friday, September 30, 2022. This early dismissal is due to an event being held for LCS employees. Schools will begin dismissal at 11:00AM with the final second wave of bus riders leaving at approximately 11:20AM. This early dismissal is not noted on our district calendar, so please be sure to make arrangements for student transportation. Thank you and have a great Labor Day weekend!

Multiple community leadership members met on August 12, 2022 to review and discuss school safety operations as well as strengthen the partnerships between Lauderdale County Schools and each law enforcement department. This meeting was the third held by these community leaders in an effort to ensure a consistent vision and purpose existed among all entities. Meeting attendees included school and district administration, County Mayor Maurice Gaines, City of Ripley Mayor Craig Fitzhugh, Ripley and Halls Police Department leadership, and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, including Sheriff Elect Brian Kelley. All organizations plan to meet quarterly in our local schools to continue discussions surrounding school safety and ensure that effective and streamlined safety practices are in place. Attendees completed a walkthrough of Ripley High School at the conclusion of the meeting.

Join us for our annual Open House at Halls Elementary tonight. We are offering two opportunities for you to meet with your child's teacher and learn more about their expectations. The first session is 5:30-6:00 and the second is 6:00-6:30. In addition, you may attend our annual Title Parent Meeting in the cafeteria at 5:30 to learn more about how Title funds are used to serve your child. We hope to see you tonight!
