Mr. Michael LaFrance has been selected as an Assistant Principal at Ripley High School. He is a graduate of Freedom High School in Freedom, PA. After finishing high school Mr. LaFrance enlisted in the United States Navy. In the Navy he served as a flight line coordinator and a shop lead as a navy contractor.
Mr. LaFrance has served as a physical education and physical science teacher in Meridian, MS and Frayser Community School in Memphis, TN. He most recently served as a world history teacher at Brighton High School. He has also served as a head football coach and a head track coach. During his classroom tenure, he has been praised for making a strong impact on student outcomes and for building relationships.
Mr. LaFrance has served in various leadership roles throughout his education, coaching, and military career and his experience will lend itself to Ripley High School’s mission of providing high quality instruction and student achievement.
Mr. Lafrance holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology and Master of Education degree in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University. He received his Education Specialist Degree from Arkansas State University.
