On November 9 and 10, RMS families attended Chromebook informational sessions. During these sessions, families were introduced to the 1:1 initiative for Lauderdale County Schools. This initiative will provide one Chromebook device for each LCS student.
The LCS Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) was reviewed during the sessions. The AUP addressed the following areas:
- Google account access for students
- Appropriate and inappropriate uses
- Account security, safety, and privacy
- Equipment responsibility
- Proper device care
Families were also trained on Chromebook operation and the educational platforms available to RMS students. Platforms available to RMS students include Google Classroom, GreatMinds InSync for English/Language Arts, i-Ready for Reading and Math, and ThinkCentral for Science. Families were also able to view classes created in Google Classroom and assigned work for students. Families were also able to visit the RMS Book Fair, which is open to students November 9-20 during R.O.A.R. class.
If you did not get a chance to attend the training, feel free to watch our Parent Chromebook Night video!
