An ongoing partnership with Save the Children and Lauderdale County Schools opened the door to additional support for our students, families, and teachers in response to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Lauderdale County Schools was awarded a $20,000 technology grant to help “close the digital divide” for our Kindergarten students in the district.
The Save the Children funds, paired with other grant funding and local funds, will allow all students to access 1-to-1 technology. These devices will provide students with opportunities to engage in ongoing, teacher-directed instruction during in-person and at-home learning. Family engagement will also be enhanced by giving families increased communication with classroom teachers and academic supports via Google classroom and online instructional materials.
