On August 21, students attended grade level assemblies regarding our school-wide cookie dough fundraiser. In these assemblies, students learned how their participation in the fundraiser will benefit the school and how they will be rewarded at the conclusion of the sale. Students are able to earn prizes by selling particular quantities of items. Seventh graders Kayla Bonds and Courtney Smith (pictured above) demonstrated how much the human bumper balls can be during their kickoff assembly. The human bumper balls are among many fun prizes students can receive based on how many items they have sold. The fundraiser's biggest prizes include a ticket and VIP pass for a Memphis Grizzlies game if 15 items are sold and a game day food voucher if 20 items are sold.
Our school-wide fundraiser generates funding for various school initiatives. Through our previous fundraising efforts, RMS has been able to purchase classroom technology, such as ELMO document cameras, that are used for classroom instruction. We have also been able to purchase updated instruction and practice materials for our Math classes. Our goals for this year's proceeds are to purchase instructional materials for our English and Writing courses and to begin the update process for our school-wide technology. The cookie dough fundraiser will end on Thursday, September 6th. Students and families are asked to review the fundraising packets that were given out today for fundraising procedure information. Good luck to all of our sellers!
