Remote learning orientations are underway at RMS! Families attended small group sessions earlier this week to learn more about remote learning expectations and accessing educational programs.
Our final remote learning orientation will be held on Monday, September 14 from 5:00-6:00PM. For families planning to attend the orientation, you may bring a device from home to use. Demonstration devices will also be available for use during orientation. Devices will also be distributed to students who indicated the need during the application process. For Monday night’s orientation, families are asked to park in the rear parking lot (near the gym) and enter from the bus entrance.
As a reminder, all academic packets that have been assigned for RMS remote students are due by Friday, September 18.

RMS will host remote learning orientation sessions next week. It is vital for students and parents to be in attendance as we will review how to access educational programs and complete assignments. Families with more than one RMS remote learner may choose one session to attend for all students. Families are asked to bring devices from home, if available, to use during the orientation. Demonstration devices will be available for those who need them. Academic packets from this week should be turned in during orientation sessions. No academic packets will be collected on Tuesday, September 8. All previously assigned academic packets should be turned in by Friday, September 18. After this date, no academic packets will be collected or graded.

LCS will remain on the odd/even day schedule through at least Fall break. This schedule has assisted in limiting the spread of COVID and has allowed schools to remain open. A decision about the schedule beyond Fall break will be announced by October 2.

On Tuesday, September 22, Ripley High School seniors will complete the Junior ACT that was cancelled this spring. In order to maintain social distancing guidelines while testing, only Seniors will report to Ripley High School’s campus. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will work remotely on this date to complete assignments. Please note that this schedule change on September 22 is only for students at Ripley High School. Ripley Middle School even day students will still report to school for instruction.

Ripley Middle will travel to Halls Junior High tonight for their first football game of the season. Best of luck to the RMS Tigers and Cheerleaders!

Water bottles must be sealable and should not have open lids (such as Yeti cups). Water bottles must also be clear and can be disposable. Only water is permitted in classrooms and hallways. Soft drinks and other beverages may only be consumed during lunch and must be disposed of at the end of lunch.

Ripley Middle School students who are enrolled in remote learning for the first grading period may pickup academic work packets and workbooks on Monday, August 17. Unlike our work given in the spring, academic work packets and workbooks provided this fall will be returned and graded. When arriving, families will follow the driveway around the school and stop at the 600 wing for pickup.
