Ripley Middle School's Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held tomorrow, May 17. The ceremony will be held at the Ripley High School gymnasium. Parents and guests will be able to access seating for the ceremony at 8:45AM and the ceremony will begin promptly at 9:30AM.
As a reminder, all eighth grade students should report to RMS tomorrow by 7:45AM. Students should arrive in their promotion attire and report to their designated seat in the cafeteria.

Eighth grade students were given permission forms today during lunch for promotion practice. Students must return these forms tomorrow when they arrive to RMS.
Please be sure your student arrives by 7:45AM on Thursday and Friday to prepare for promotion activities. ALL students must be present for promotion practice tomorrow in order to participate in the ceremony on Friday.
** Those in need of a permission form may download the form from the "Documents" section of the RMS website to print, sign, and return with their student tomorrow. **
8th graders visited the Dyersburg State Community College, Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington for the "On Track for College" event.
Students in Ms. Laura Webb's class recently completed a study on the Holocaust by creating butterflies. The butterflies represent children survivors and victims.
On Tuesday, May 7, the Ripley Middle School Student Council inducted the newly elected officers, senators, and members-at-large for the 2019-2020 school year.
Outgoing 8th graders Leah H., Taylor C., Taylor S., and Annsley H. were recognized for the service to the council and for state level award recognition at State Convention.

May Day is tomorrow, rain or shine! Students who are eligible to participate may come to school out of dress code (tops and bottoms) as long as clothing meets the length and fit expectations. Due to several water activities, students are asked not to wear white attire. Students may bring a change of clothing and towels as well.
Students who earned tickets for utilizing appropriate testing strategies will receive these upon entering the May Day area. Students may purchase additional tickets during their time outside.
Please be sure your student turns in his/her SIGNED permission form that was sent home today.
TNReady paper/pencil testing begins tomorrow! Students will take all parts of their ELA state assessment this week.

AS AN INCENTIVE, students will be able to earn TWO May Day tickets each testing day by utilizing the following testing strategies:
1) Be present for testing,
2) Remain attentive to the test for the assigned testing time,
3) Maintain a secure and respectful testing environment (not falling asleep during the test, not being disruptive during the test, etc.).
Students can earn up to TWELVE free May Day tickets by doing their best during testing!
Spring pictures orders are due this Wednesday, April 17! Be sure to bring your order and payment to school on this day!
Congratulations to the 31 new members of the Ripley Middle School Jr. Beta Club. The club is comprised of students who are athletes, band members, SCA members and just plain smart! Great job!
