Mr. Nicholas Stevens has been selected to fill the role of Director of Special Education for Lauderdale County Schools. Mr. Stevens has served Lauderdale County Schools since 2015 and is currently finishing his fourth year as Assistant Principal at Halls Elementary School. In this administrative role, Mr. Stevens has worked as the special education lead across all grades at his school from PreK-6th Grade. Previously, Mr. Stevens taught 5th Grade English Language Arts at Halls Elementary School where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2019. Additionally, he has served as an associate for Great Minds and has led several training sessions for ELA teachers throughout our district.
Mr. Stevens is a graduate of Arkansas State University with an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. He received his Masters in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State in 2019 and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (K-8) from UT Martin in 2013. Mr. Stevens has demonstrated the ability to be a collaborative leader who listens and works well with students, employees, and families.
